Employee Spotlight: Meet Syahid

Greetings, Syahid! Let's get this started, do introduce yourself to everyone please.

Hello world, my name is Syahid and I am 27 years old. I was born in Johor where I spent most of my lifetime before deciding to relocate to Singapore. I graduated from UiTM with Bachelor of Data Communication and Networking.

As someone who was born in Malaysia, I spent most of my life surrounded by its vibrant culture and diverse communities, and has given me a deep appreciation for its rich heritage, from the incredible food scene to the colorful festivals. Life in Malaysia taught me to embrace diversity and find joy in simple pleasures, whether it was a weekend trip to the beautiful beaches or a quiet evening at a local café.

Moving to Singapore has been an exciting new chapter, but I always carry a piece of Malaysia with me. I could not find any much difference in transitioning from Malaysia to Singapore as Singapore always brings similar warmth to the people, the multicultural atmosphere, and the close-knit community spirit are things I cherish deeply. Singapore is an exciting place with its own set of opportunities, and it feels like a natural continuation of my journey.

Both Malaysia and Singapore seem like very lovely places to live in. I'm envious that you have the experience of living in 2 different countries! And speaking about experience, could you also share about your work experience and your journey towards Blue Wireless?

Before joining Blue Wireless, I kickstarted my career as an IT engineer at medical devices manufacturer company. I had the chance to work on various projects that expanded my technical expertise and deepened my understanding of user needs. I always enjoyed the challenge of finding innovative solutions to complex problems, and that’s what led me to Blue Wireless.

Joining Blue Wireless was an exciting leap forward in my career.

Working at Blue Wireless in Singapore has been a fantastic experience, the team here in Singapore is incredibly talented and driven, which makes every day an opportunity to learn and innovate.

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying your work here! I'm also curious to know more about your job role; what do you do on a day-to-day basis?

As a Network Service engineer at Blue Wireless, my daily tasks consist of providing a solution to the customer from the deployment to the post implementation. Apart from that, we have to collaboratively working with Global Support to solve customer issue.

Since joining the team, I’ve working on to fill up the gaps for my colleague. The supportive environment has been invaluable, as my colleagues are always willing to share their knowledge and offer guidance. Working on various projects has been a great way to learn and gain hands-on experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a forward-thinking team.

Sounds amazing indeed. Alright, on to the fun non-work stuff. Any hobbies that you're currently in to?

Now we have come to my favorite section. Even though I am not that athletic, I enjoy most of the sports. Outside of work, I love playing all kinds of sports, but badminton is where I think I excel in.

I’ve been playing for years, and it’s a great way for me to stay active and competitive. Whether I’m hitting the court for a casual game or a more intense match, it’s always a thrill. Every weekend my group of friends will schedule a weekly casual game between us and it is a great way to keep us connected. I also signed up for badminton training which I will have to go for every 2 weeks.

In addition to sports, I’m always up for an adventure trip whether it’s traveling to new places or going on camping trips.

Traveling helps me relax and open my eyes in many ways, I can learn to see things from different viewpoints, which can make you think from different perspectives.
