Jonathan (also known by everyone at Blue Wireless as “Jono”) is our Customer Success Manager in our Australia office. He is 32 years old, lives in Sydney, and recently became the proud dad of Scarlet, his and his girlfriend’s furry child.
Jono is the first in our “Meet the team” series, which aims to showcase Blue Wireless' greatest value: our people.
Take us back – why tech, networks, and why Blue Wireless?
I’ve been interested in tech since an early age: I started gaming in primary school (late SNES, early N64 release). As teens, we spent our weekend nights playing Goldeneye and Mario Kart. One of my first part-time jobs was working in a video game store (talk about dream jobs 😂) and once I had finished High School, I skipped out on Uni and worked at the Apple Store on the Genius bar repairing iPhones, Macbooks, etc.
Once I’d hit my limit on working in retail, my journey into networks and the corporate world started on the service desk of a large Aussie Telco, where I progressed through the ranks and gained a heap of experience. Fast forward to Blue Wireless, where I’ve been for almost three years and love the variety, flexibility, and ever-changing nature of the work. Working for a fast-growing – but still relatively small – company allows the freedom to make educated decisions without being hamstrung by corporate red tape!
What about outside work – how do you spend the out-of-office hours?
I am Coffee-and-Sneaker obsessed! (selling and collecting). I help staff an online sneaker community of over 2,000 paid members which, along with the purchasing & selling aspect, takes up much of my spare time.
Other than that, I love good food (Japanese & Korean food are top of the list), enjoy spending time with my girlfriend exploring new cafes and perusing art gallery exhibitions.
So no more gaming for you?
Still gaming! I’ve recently become a little too addicted to Fortnite (playing with the same regular group of friends) 😆.
