Employee Spotlight: Meet Adhi

Hi Adhi, thanks for taking the time to answer our questions! Let’s start off with a quick introduction about yourself. As a true-blue Malaysian, how’s life been like for you?

Hello everyone! I’m from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – one of the top 10 countries with the most public holidays in the world, a testament to its multiculturism and diversity, which warrant an array of festivities and celebrations. Growing up in Malaysia has truly been an enriching experience because the innate cultural diversity of the country provided me with the exposure, from a young age, to immerse myself in various traditions and perspectives, fostering a sense of appreciation for the unique differences we all have as humans. Beyond the cultural element, the food and geography are just as diverse and charming – whether you’re craving local cuisine or international flavours, looking for a beach or mountain escape, Malaysia has something for everyone!

Wow, Malaysia will definitely be on my travel list for sure! And talking about travelling, how has your journey towards Blue Wireless been like?

I started of my career in the Telecommunications industry after getting into a management trainee program in a large Telecommunications company in Malaysia, where I spent nearly 4 years. During my time there, I had the privilege of exploring different roles across Corporate Strategy, Data Analytics & Product Management which immensely enriched my industry knowledge and enabled me to contribute and challenge myself in a variety of ways.

I joined Blue Wireless to further develop my industry knowledge in the B2B space, an area I had less exposure to previously.

I see, could you tell us more about what you do here in Blue Wireless? And what’s your favourite thing about your role?

I’m the Global Product Manager for our Fixed Wireless Access product, Global Wireless Access, at Blue Wireless. In a nutshell, new product launches, product lifecycle management and driving application development to enable digital capabilities for our customers fall under my responsibilities.

What I love about product management is the iterative nature of the role where you constantly persevere and strive to improve your output with failure and success – much like life itself! It is also very fulfilling to be able to piece to together different parts of the puzzle to create a solution that ultimately gets used by customers, solving a real need someone has.

That sounds interesting indeed. With so many job tasks on your plate, what do you do to relax? How do you normally spend your free time?

Outside of Blue Wireless, I have been learning to play the sitar, a stringed musical instrument, primarily used in Indian classical music, for about 5 years now. I recently took one of my exams for it, and thankfully, passed!

Playing the sitar has had a very profound impact in my life ­- it’s been one of the avenues through which I lose myself completely in the craft, which in turn has brought about a certain quality of focus and meditativeness in my daily life.

Fun fact: George Harrison from The Beatles played the sitar in their song “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)”.

Ok, I definitely need to listen to that song again haha! Alright, and last but not least, in your opinion, what makes Blue Wireless special?

The flat hierarchy is a key standout feature at Blue Wireless, as it enables autonomy and makes everyone in the company easily accessible to one another. You don’t need to struggle for visibility; your contributions are recognized no matter the title/rank/seniority. From my own experience, I’ve been entrusted to lead major projects right from the start, thanks to the wonderful support from my manager and the management team.
